How Long Do I Have to Have the Ignition Interlock

 185 days if the person is convicted of a first DUI (BAC under .18%) within the last 7 years 

365 days if the person is convicted of a first DUI (BAC over .18%) within the last 7 years

365 days if the person is convicted of a second DUI within 7 years 

365 days if the person refuses to take a chemical breath or blood test after a DUI arrest

1095 days (3 years) if the person is convicted of a third DUI within 7 years

1095 days (3 years) if the person is convicted of a DUI after a felony DUI conviction

1095 days (3 years) if the person is convicted of a DUI causing injury or death

1095 days (3 years) if the person is convicted of Vehicular Homicide

How Long Do I Have to Have the Ignition Interlock

 Driving without an Ignition Interlock Device is a crime. The penalty is either:

  • 30 days to 6 months in jail; or
  • 60 days to 6 months in home confinement and 
  • $500 to $1,000 in fines

In addition, the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles will revoke your license for three years. 

If you drive without an IID again, the Nevada DMV will revoke your license for five years.
